Higgins Joins Athletic Training Staff at Fort Lewis

Fort Lewis College Assistant Director of Athletics Wayne Barger announced the addition of Anna Higgins to the FLC athletic training staff.

“It is my pleasure to welcome Anna Higgins on board with the Fort Lewis College Sports Medicine Team,” said Barger. “Her enthusiasm and experience will fit in extremely well with the highly dedicated and professional athletic training staff.”

Higgins comes to Fort Lewis College from Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colo. where she was the assistant athletic trainer.

Higgins spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons at Colorado College as the primary athletic trainer for women’s lacrosse and women’s basketball.  She also aided in the coverage of all of the Tigers athletic programs, including Division I women’s soccer and Division I men’s ice hockey.

“I am so pleased to have met former FLC athletic trainers who were able to put me in contact withWayne Barger and have this phenomenal opportunity,” said Higgins.

In her two years at Colorado College, Higgins directed student athletic trainers and physical therapy aides and worked in conjunction with team physicals and orthopedic surgeons.  While at CC, she completed her internship at the United State Olympic Training Center.

Higgins graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa in 2013.  She received her Master of Sports Medicine degree in 2015 from University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
