Joe Whitson comes to the Hilltop after working the past 11 years as associate athletics trainer at Illinois State — the past 10 years as the athletic trainer for the football team.“Joe’s experiences will enhance the services to our student-athletes in the area of athletic training, as well as our national-level Sports Performance program,” said Reynolds in a press release.
“His familiarity with the Missouri Valley Conference and central Illinois medical community will aid in his transition to Bradley.”
Whitson, who is a 2001 graduate of East Tennessee State, handled equipment and supervised the assistant trainers at ISU. He also worked with the Redbirds’ volleyball and swim teams.The White House, Tenn., native earned a master’s degree from Virginia Tech, and interned with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
