Kent Weisbeck has been honored by the association of hockey’s athletic trainers and equipment managers for more than three decades of service to the Rochester Americans.

Weisbeck, an Amerks assistant athletic trainer, was given the Career Achievement Alumni Award by the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society/Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers (PHATS/SPHEM) on Tuesday night in Nashville, Tennessee.

Weisbeck has been with the Amerks since 1985-86 and has worked more than 2,000 games. He was elected into the Amerks Hall of Fame in 2010.

The career achievement award recognizes dedication and excellence in the field.

Just two others have been honored: Gunner Garrett, who spent 48 years in hockey as an equipment manager, and Dan Stuck, who started with the Hershey Bears as a stick boy in 1977-78, became their medical trainer in 1985 and still holds the position today.
