Adam Ploeg named director of McLeod Sports Medicine

Adam Ploeg has been promoted to director of McLeod Sports Medicine, McLeod Health announced Thursday.

Ploeg, who has served as the athletic training supervisor since 2011, will be responsible for the daily operations of McLeod Sports Medicine, including the Outpatient Sports Medicine Facility and 25 Athletic Training contracts throughout the region.

McLeod Sports Medicine is a program of physicians, therapists, and certified athletic trainers who are dedicated to helping prevent injury, improve performance and achieve personal physical goals.

Ploeg, who has degrees from Western Michigan University, Cedarville (Ohio) University and Liberty University, joined McLeod as an athletic trainer in 2009.

McLeod athletic trainers provide care to facilities in Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Lee, Florence, Horry, Marion, and Marlboro counties. Clients include 21 high schools, Francis Marion University, Florence-Darlington Technical College, the Florence RedWolves and McLeod Health & Fitness Centers.
