Adam Barta has been hired as an assistant athletic trainer for the University of Toledo sports medicine team, assistant athletic director for sports medicine Brian Jones announced on Thursday. Barta will work mostly with the Rocket football prgram.

“We are very excited to have Adam join our sports medicine team,” said Jones. “He is a talented young professional and brings a tremendous amount of energy and enthusiasm to our program.”

Before coming to UT, Barta spent the 2014-2016 seasons as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the University of Arkansas football program.

A native of Tomah, WI, Barta began his career as an athletic training student intern at the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse from 2008-12 and worked as an athletic training intern for the Seattle Seahawks from 2010-11. He continued his work with the Seahawks as a seasonal athletic training intern from 2012-14. Barta earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Wisconsin-Lacrosse in 2012 and his master’s degree in sports management from Arkansas in 2016.

“I am very excited to use my skills and experience to improve the performance and the lives of the student-athletes at Toledo,” said Barta. “I am proud to be a part of this sports medicine team that strives to provide the best possible healthcare for its student-athletes.”
