Jake Schubert, a 2013 Central College graduate, has returned to campus to serve as an assistant athletic trainer.
After graduation, Schubert went to the University of St. Mary (Kan.) as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. He served there from 2013-15, working primarily with the volleyball, softball and cross country teams. He received a master’s degree in adult education while working there.
Schubert than went to the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse where he spent one year as an athletic training fellow. While at Wis.-LaCrosse, Schubert predominately worked with the volleyball, softball and wrestling programs.
Schubert will handle the wrestling, outdoor track & field and cross country teams at Central.
“The whole staff is excited to have him back,” head athletic trainer Frank Neu said. “He has a lot of great experience from his previous jobs. He’s already hit the ground running.”
Schubert’s first day was September 6.
