Wilson head athletic trainer John “Doc” Moyer recently was honored with awards from national and regional associations.

He received the 2017 National Athletic Trainers Association District 2 Gatorade Secondary School Athletic Trainer Award, which “recognizes a certified athletic trainer from each NATA district who has made outstanding contributions in furthering his or her high school’s athletic care program or the overall profession of secondary school athletic training.” District 2 covers Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Delaware. He also received the 2017 Eastern Athletic Trainers Association Henry Schein Award, which is “given to a certified athletic trainer who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession on the secondary or prep school level.” EATA is made up of NATA District 1 (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine) and District 2 (Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Delaware).

The Wilson program, under the direction of Moyer and assistant Kiernan Melograna, also received the NATA Safe Sports School Award, which honors secondary schools that take crucial steps to keep athletes free from injuries.
