Adam Norman Named Southern Professional Hockey Athletic Trainer of the Year

The Southern Professional Hockey League announced that Adam Norman of the Columbus Cottonmouths is the recipient of the 2016-2017 SPHL Athletic Trainer of the Year Award.

The winner was determined by a vote of the league’s athletic trainers and equipment managers.

Norman is a native of Paragould, Arkansas, obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Arkansas State University.

After completion of his Bachelor degree, he took a position at the Hughston Clinic as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Training Fellow where he obtained his Master of Science degree from the University of North Georgia.

Adam is working as the Head Certified Athletic Trainer for the Columbus Cottonmouths as part of the Hughston Foundation Athletic Training Fellowship Program in Columbus.

Norman is currently working on research on ACL repairs and common sports injuries related to ice hockey.

After his stint in the Southern Professional Hockey League, he intends on furthering his education with an Athletic Training Residency and finishing with a degree as a Physician Assistant, where he would work within an orthopedic clinic.
