Washington University in St. Louis head athletic trainer Rick Larsen has announced the hiring of Bailey Draheim as assistant athletic trainer.

Draheim replaces Jacob Blasingame, who left WashU after a five-year stint to return to physician assistant school.

She returns to the Danforth Campus after serving a one-year Athletic Training Student Clinical under Larsen and his staff during the 2016-17 school year. Draheim earned her master’s degree in athletic training from St. Louis University in 2017, and also received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from SLU in 2016.

While completing her bachelor’s degree, she served as an athletic training student at SLU for basketball and baseball in 2016. Draheim also had stints with Nike Elite Basketball Camp (2016), Performance Orthopedic and Sports Therapy (2016) and Westminster Christian Academy (2015), in addition to working the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2016 and 2017.

Draheim is assigned to cover women’s soccer, swimming and diving and baseball, in addition to assisting with football. She has a CPR/First Aid Certification, and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
