The Chowan University athletic department and Director of Sports Medicine Lisa Bland have announced the addition of Kassy Mosley to the athletic training staff.   Mosley serves as Assistant Athletic Trainer.

Bland noted, “Kassandra brings experience from both the NCAA Division I and Division II levels and has worked with a wide range of athletic teams.  She brings an infectious level of enthusiasm to her work.  We are excited to welcome her to the Chowan family”.

Prior to coming to Chowan, Mosley spent the past two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Barry University. There, she was responsible for daily coverage and care for the women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and women’s rowing student-athletes.  She evaluated athletic injuries, maintained health records, and implemented athletic injury and illness prevention methods.

Mosley gained experience as an athletic training intern with Western Carolina University where she worked specifically with the women’s volleyball team and men’s and women’s track and field teams.  Prior to her internship, Mosley worked under the athletic training staff at East Carolina University as a student assistant for three years working with the men’s and women’s cross country and track programs, women’s soccer, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, and baseball teams as well as local high schools.

Mosley worked as a Health Care Assistant for the Girl Scouts Peaks to Piedmont Camp in Lenoir, North Carolina during the summer of 2013 and is an adult member of the Girls Scouts of the United States of America.

Mosley earned a B.S. in Athletic Training from East Carolina University in 2013 and obtained a M.S. in Injury and Sports Biomechanics-Athletic Training from Barry University in June 2016.

Mosley is a NATABOC certified athletic trainer and is licensed in the state of North Carolina.  She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
