Nicole Cuccurullo Hired at Hofstra

Hofstra University Head Athletic Trainer Evan Malings today announced the appointment of Nicole Cuccurullo as an assistant athletic trainer on the Pride staff.

Cuccurullo, a native of Smithtown, NY, comes to Hofstra after serving as assistant athletic trainer at Dowling College since September 2014. At Dowling, she worked with the men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse and volleyball teams handling the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries.

Prior to Dowling, Cuccurullo served as a graduate-assistant athletic trainer at SUNY Cortland from August 2012 through May 2014. She worked as head basketball athletic trainer for both the men’s and women’s teams and also worked with the women’s volleyball, track and field and cross country teams.

Cuccurullo has also worked as an athletic trainer at the Adidas Tennis Camps in 2014, the Hoops Mountain Basketball Camp in 2013, the Long Island Diva Half Marathon in 2011, the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championships in 2011 and 2012 and the Summer Camps at Stony Brook University from 2011 through 2013.

Cuccurullo earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Stony Brook University in 2012 and her master’s degree in exercise science from SUNY Cortland in 2014. She was a lab teacher at Cortland State in 2014 and a teaching assistant at Stony Brook in 2011. Cuccurullo is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), is a New York State licensed athletic trainer and a BOC certified athletic trainer.
