The Milwaukee Bucks announced Friday that 40-year-old Scott Faust will be their new head athletic trainer and made official the hirings of assistant coach Stacey Augmon and director of basketball research Seth Partnow.
Faust served as an assistant athletic trainer with the Philadelphia 76ers since 2006 and was promoted to associate athletic trainer/rehabilitation coordinator last season. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama-Huntsville and is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
The 48-year-old Augmon served as an assistant coach with the Bucks’ summer league entry in Las Vegas in July. The former Nevada-Las Vegas standout spent the last five years as an assistant at UNLV and was an assistant with the Denver Nuggets from 2007-’11.
Partnow, 39, was the editor of the Nylon Calculus, a basketball statistical analysis website. The native of Anchorage, Alaska, graduated from Carleton College in 1999 and received his law degree from the University of Minnesota in 2005.
The Bucks will open training camp Sept. 27 on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison.
Bucks host cancer fundraiser: The Bucks will host a fundraising event Sunday at the BMO Harris Bradley Center with proceeds going to cancer research.
Bucks coach Jason Kidd and his wife, Porschla, are helping with the event, which is also sponsored by Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin health network.
Bucks fans will be able to shoot on the Bradley Center court from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Honorary chairs of the event are Bucks president Peter Feigin, Porschla Kidd and Froedtert Health President and CEO Cathy Jacobson. The Bucks announced the three will be contributing $1 for every fan in attendance, $5 for every free throw made and $25 for every three-pointer made, up to $20,000.
