Danielle Carrington of Magnolia recently traveled with the Southern Arkansas University Athletic Training Department to experience the 8th Annual SWATA Competency Workshop and District VI Quiz Bowl in San Marcos, TX.

The focus of the workshop was to prepare athletic training students for the Board of Certification exam.

Carrington, a senior athletic training major, participated in domain testing, numerous laboratory activities, and hands on activities in joint mobility, and PNF stretching and strengthening.

Students had the opportunity to interact with state-of-the-art research equipment such as force plates, EMGs, Neurocom and Biodex.

They were able to network with workshop faculty including athletic trainers from across Arkansas and Texas.

Additionally, the workshop consisted of more than 130 students from various athletic training programs.
