University of Maine Presque Isle Alumni Bob Tarpey who is now the Athletic Trainer in the Toronto Blue Jays farm system with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats was back on campus today talking about his path in professionalbaseball and his daily duties with the Fisher Cats.

Bob Tarpey:” We had it broken down. My schedule starts at noon and I describe in detail what my day is like at the end of the night. Just to give them an idea so they can see what it is like to be a Minor League Athletic Trainer.”

Tarpey returned to the Training room where he spent a lot of time back in his collegiate days. Tarpey graduated in 2003 and prior to graduation he interned with the Toronto Blue Jays. He has worked in the Blue Jays organization since 2006. Aaron Marston an instructor in Athletic Training Education says having Tarpey back on campus is invalulable to the students

(Aaron Marston):”For them to hear some of the things we talk about in the classroom . See the hands on and make the connections. It has helped them they have been very engaged and they have asked some great questions.”
