A Tavares High School athletic trainer bonded out of jail on Thursday after being arrested for providing and drinking alcohol with students at a party in the Ocala National Forest over spring break.

According to the arrest report, Kyle Rentschler met several students at Winn Dixie supermarket off Hwy 19 in Eustis on March 12. He entered the store and purchased alcohol and entered one of the students’ cars.

Rentschler then asked another student to drive him to another store to purchase more alcohol, deputies said.

Deputies said a video taken at the party shows Rentschler consuming alcohol with students. A concerned parent provided the video to school administrators.

Rentschler was arrested on Wednesday for several charges including three counts of selling, giving, serving alcohol to a person under 21 and two counts of contributing to delinquency or dependency of a child.

“Kyle Rentschler was reassigned to a work location away from students,” Lake County Schools spokeswoman Sherri Owens told News 6.

“He has been employed with us for 4 years and has had no employee disciplinary issues during that time,” Owens said.

Rentschler is set to appear in court on April 12.
