Over the weekend, the Wofford Terriers got a big scare when linebacker Michael Roach collapsed on the sidelines, causing the training staff to jump into action and begin performing CPR on him. Fortunately, he was okay after being transported by ambulance to the hospital.
He spoke with reporters on Wednesday and he credited the school’s training staff and team doctor for saving his life after his scare. He thanked them for helping him with his undiagnosed heart condition and is sure to be back on the field soon.
During the 2015 season, Roach played in all 11 of the Terriers’ games, making eight starts and recording 39 tackles, 6.5 for loss, two sacks and an interception. It certainly seems like he will be a big part of their season once he gets healthy enough to return.
The Terriers face off against Ole Miss on Saturday at 4 p.m.
