Flagler hires associate athletic trainer

Flagler College has named Chris Mathis as associate athletic trainer.

Mathis had been the baseball trainer at Peach Belt Conference rival Georgia College, where he earned his master’s in kinesiology/human performance. He will be the trainer for volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s tennis at Flagler.

“Chris brings with him an unmatched enthusiasm for the profession and an innate desire to continually seek new challenges,” Flagler head athletic trainer Meghan Chambers said.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity and excited to work at Flagler,” said Mathis, who received his bachelor’s degree in athletic training at Valdosta State.
