Kevin Morley Promoted to Athletic Trainer with New Jersey Devils

On Monday, the Devils also named Kevin Morley their Head Athletic Trainer. Morley has spent three seasons with the training staff of the Devils, as well as a total of nine years within the entire organization.

The last three years, he was the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the club. His duties in that role helped the trainer and team physicians with the daily management, evaluation and care of the players.

Prior to his time in Newark, he worked with the organization in the AHL for six seasons in Lowell, Massachusetts and Albany, as the Head Athletic Trainer. His duties included overseeing the care, budgeting and administration.

Before working with the Devils organization, Morley spent six seasons as the Assistant Athletic Trainer with Miami (of Ohio) University. At Miami of Ohio, he worked with the ice hockey, cheerleading, baseball, tennis and synchronized skating teams.

He has also worked in the area of sports medicine with other events, such as USA Hockey, the Red Bull Cliff Diving and Flugtag Competitions and ESPN’s Winter and Summer X-Games.

The 39-year-old, received a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences from the University of Florida in 2001 and a Bachelor’s of Science, with a major in Health Sciences from James Madison University, in Virginia.

At JMU, he was a member of the Men’s Swimming and Diving Team. He is a certified athletic trainer and a member of the Board of Certifications Exam and Development Committee.

He and his wife Katie, reside in Livingston, New Jersey with their daughter Hayden and son Andon.
