In the latest sign that Syracuse Orange athletics is hearing Dino Babers loud and clear with regard to staff resources, the program made another hire today. The school announced today that former Marshall Thundering Herd head athletic trainer Tim Pike will join SU in the same role for football.

Pike served as head athletic trainer at Marshall from 2014-16, overseeing a nine-person sports medical staff. Prior to that, he served in the same role at Eastern Kentucky. He was also a student athletic trainer at Kentucky, and a graduate assistant at North Carolina. Pike holds degrees from both Kentucky and UNC, but we won’t judge him for that.

Tim will work under SU associate athletics director of sports medicine Brad Pike (no relation), who oversees football and men’s basketball.

The Orange have been busy hiring support staff in recent months, with Pike just being the latest name. Syracuse now has a four-man athletic performance/strength and conditioning staff, plus three additional recruiting staffers (including recent add Dave Boller and a graphic designer)
