Morrison Hired at Southwestern College

Nathan Morrison, a 2010 Southwestern College graduate, has returned to Winfield to join the college’s sports medicine office. Morrison has accepted a position as assistant athletic trainer for the Moundbuilders, as announced Wednesday by head athletic trainer Lock Schnelle.

“I am happy to add Nathan to our staff,” Schnelle said. “He brings a lot of new insight to the table and will be a huge asset to our program as we continue to grow and develop our department.”

Morrison comes to Southwestern from the Baltimore, Md. area, where he has served as an outreach athletic trainer for ATI Physical Therapy since 2014. During that time, he provided medical coverage for the athletic program at Fallston High School. He spent two years as an assistant athletic trainer at Loyola University Maryland, where he facilitated injury prevention, exams, treatment and rehabilitation for the NCAA Div. I Greyhounds.

Prior to his time on the east coast, Morrison was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Okla., where he assisted the Eagles’ head athletic trainer in providing athletic training services to OKWU’s 14 athletic teams. He also instructed courses on nutrition and lifetime physical activity, and developed a strength and conditioning program for the track and field program’s throwers.
