Stucker joins sports medicine staff as assistant athletic trainer

Skaneateles native Jaclyn Stucker has joined the Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ sports medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer.

Stucker comes to the colleges after two years of working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill while pursuing a master’s degree in exercise and sports science-athletic training.

In her time in Chapel Hill, she worked primarily with the women’s gymnastics team and covered the club sports teams. In addition, Stucker worked at the physical therapy/athletic training clinic providing care to the general student population, faculty and staff.

Stucker served as a certified staff athletic trainer responsible for medical coverage at UNC summer camps in 2013 and 2014, supervising women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s lacrosse and football camps.

This summer, she gained additional experience working with the Wilmington Sharks summer college baseball league and Triangle Brigade FC, an elite level amateur soccer team in Chapel Hill.

Stucker earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training in May 2013 from the College of Health and Rehabilitation Science at Sargent College at Boston University.

As an undergraduate student, Stucker worked primarily with men’s and women’s track and field as well as men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s rowing. She also assisted with softball and men’s lacrosse.

Stucker gained additional experience working with student-athletes at Emerson College and Chelsea High School.

Stucker is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
